With Holistic massage as my initial training basis, I offer deep tissue and therapeutic massage, focusing on muscle, soft tissue and bodywork with the aim to relieve people of pain and stress. Pain is a complex issue with many contributing factors which often increases the levels of pain someone feels. Chronic pain conditions often stem from "an issue within the tissue" but with the BioPsychoSocial Model to think about, we cannot just think of the physical body.
However, with the use of myofascial release and trigger point release therapy , combined with massage and the overall benefits of relaxation, these pain conditions can be greatly reduced and alleviated over a series of treatments. I am also trained and insured in pregnancy massage which I practice from my treatment room. Pregnancy massage is of huge benefit to both mother and baby throughout each trimester. As well as helping to ease aching muscles and joints, massage also helps to balance the hormones and any stress levels, beneficial for both mother and baby.
Benefits are both to the employee and employer! Over the years, learning new approaches and gaining more skills, knowledge and techniques has retained and grown my passion for massage as an essential part of life and health. Having started my own successful practice, working from my treatment room, at home in Clifton, Bristol, I am now based both at home and at The Practice Rooms in Clifton Village, Bristol. I offer muscle and bodywork, treating the body as a whole, integrating Deep Tissue techniques, Myofascial Release and Trigger Point therapy when needed in order to relieve people of pain conditions or equally to help to relax and de-stress the body.
I am continually feeding my passion for massage and adding to my knowledge and skills, training with the world reknowned teachers Rachel Fairweather and Meghan Mari of the Jing Advanced Massage Training Institute in Brighton.
Massage of any form is a truly important and, should be, an integral part of our lives. Whether we are stressed in mind or body, appropriate human touch is a great healer. Due to busy schedules and tight budgets, massage is often seen as a luxury, an annual "treat".
