Stephen Ministry. Stephen Ministry is a one-on-one caring ministry that is grounded in a biblical understanding of Jesus, His church, and His ministry.
It helps those who have normal coping skills but need someone to walk alongside them in faith and prayer during times when they are overwhelmed. If you are experiencing difficulties like these, our Stephen Ministers are ready to listen, care, encourage, and offer support. A Stephen Minister will meet with you privatelyβby phone, by video chat, or in person βto focus on you and your needs. Walk to Emmaus. Spoiler alert: it's not a physical outing. The Walk to Emmaus is an experience of Christian spiritual renewal and formation that begins with a three-day retreat. The goal: to grow leaders in the church and empower them to become active members within their local congregations.
It's an opportunity to meet Jesus in a new way, as God's grace and unconditional love are shown through other believers. Several Walks retreats are usually scheduled each spring and fall. Midway UMC has one of the largest and most active Emmaus communities those who have participated in a WTE in North Georgia, and the church hosts free informational dinners for church members who may be interested in participating.
