David Loyd Doering left us earthside on Friday, January 17, David passed peacefully in his home in Anchorage, Kentucky with those he loved the most by his side. Dave was greeted in the afterlife by his mother Claire and father Loyd , as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, brother-in-law and aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
Dave is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debbie, son Andrew Julie , who he shared his love of medicine with, daughter Allison Brett , who he shared his love of travel with, three grandchildren, Lyla Grace and Clara Jane Andy and Julie and Cameron Allie and Brett , as well as his siblings and many, many friends. After the completion of his army obligations, Dave and Debbie moved to Anchorage, Kentucky in Many knew Dave as a doctor, surgeon, healer, and life saver.
Dave was a dedicated gynecologic oncologist who leaves behind a great legacy in medicine as his passion and care saved many lives throughout his career. Dave was also an adventurer, learner, world traveler, skier, teacher, friend, coworker, biker, bourbon collector, coffee connoisseur, car fanatic, lover of music, techie, hiker, hunter, dog dad, mountain climber, foodie, lake lover, wood worker and sports fan go Cards!
Dave was the ultimate hobbyist, but most importantly he was a family man, who loved his family fiercely. He was a son, brother, uncle, husband, dad, and his favorite role of all, a grandfather. Without question, we lost Dave too soon. To know Dave, was to know he would not be proven wrong, and he knew he still had more life to live after his cancer diagnosis in He lived over 12 years full of love, work, and adventure with stage 4 prostate cancer.
If Dave could leave advice to others we think it would be to say yes - yes to the experience, yes to the hard work, yes to spending more time with those you love. The family will have a private ceremony to lay Dave to a final rest.
