This outrage has intensified in the last few days as it now appears unlikely that any charges will be laid against the men involved in hiring the girl.
It's cases like these which serve to illustrate our intuitive sense of justice and especially when something is obviously unjust. The Director for Public Prosecutions DPP has stated that there may not be sufficient evidence to proceed with charges against the hirers of this girl.
To be sure, based on what Mr Ellis has said, this would indeed be a difficult case to prosecute. But prosecute they must. That's why this is a watershed moment for Tasmania. What is it about this case that riles most Tasmanians?
