Since the early 90s the so-called keyhole surgery minimally invasive surgery, MIS , has allowed surgical interventions in the body interior with a maximum protection of the surrounding tissue. Only small cuts in skin and soft tissue are necessary to insert the surgical instruments into the area of the surgery.
The surgeon is directed via a high-performance camera which transmits the pictures of the operating area to a monitor. Since minimally invasive surgery — also called keyhole-surgery — was introduced I was fascinated by the approach and I decided to adopt it as my main field of work.
As a board-certified surgeon, visceral, thoracic and vascular surgeon I specialize in minimally invasive surgery, which means, that I perform endoscopic and laparoscopic chest and abdominal surgery.
