But it's the spa that's the jewel in the crown, almost literally, after Garcia enlisted the same artisans that crafted the palatial, King of Morocco-owned La Mamounia.
Cue traditional tadelakt walls and grand geometric-tiled columns surrounding a shimmering blue pool lit by ornate lanterns. After deciding it was time for a refresh, the hotel emerged from lockdown looking brighter, lighter and better than ever, with more spacious Laura Gonzalez-designed rooms that deftly blend together nods to Neoclassicism, Art Deco and Orientalism.
The edgy quartier of Strasbourg Saint Denis might seem like an unlikely setting for romance but the bijou Hotel Providence has been made for lovers. Just 18 jewel box rooms come lavishly dressed in gemstone shades and whimsical House of Hackney fabrics, complemented with glass chandeliers, flirty fringed lampshades and vintage treasures. Or make use of your cute Parisian wrought iron balcony, just big enough for two to linger over morning coffee together.
