Located in the heart of Hirslanden Clinique des Grangettes in Geneva, the Centre benefits from the support of all its infrastructures, including the Institute of Radiology, the Cardiovascular Centre and the operating theatre. The Emergency Consultation Centre ensures rapid care and necessary first aid in all medical and surgical disciplines.
The emergency doctors working at the Emergency Consultation Centre are all doctors with an FMH title in general internal medicine, a level of training equivalent to a head of clinic at the Geneva University Hospitals. The Centre's emergency physicians constantly collaborate with many specialists on site, mainly in visceral surgery, orthopedic surgery, cardiology, radiology, gynecology-obstetrics, urology, oncology and anesthesiology. Radiological examinations as well as laboratories necessary for management are carried out on site.
The patient's attending physician or family physician receives a consultation report for each emergency room visit. He is the priority interlocutor for the follow-up of care but the Center remains available to ensure short-term follow-up if necessary. The Center is therefore equipped with an outpatient treatment room, particularly for the follow-up of wounds and minor traumas.
The adult emergency consultation center of the Clinique des Grangettes provides attending physicians and patients with an Ambulatory Monitoring and Investigation Unit ICU.
