We close the Spring semester with Viking Week, which is our most popular celebration. Starting on Monday, an entire pig is roasted and prepared for the brothers to enjoy. Tuesday is typically a brotherhood event. Whether it is bowling or casino night, members of ATO all come together to enjoy the night. Wednesday is the final chapter meeting of the school year, called "Senior Chapter".
Seniors tell stories, share memories, and reflect on how ATO has impacted during their time at Auburn. Thursday is the famous date party. Brothers go all in, painting and dressing up in true viking gear. A band party is hosted at the house on Friday night to close out the social events for the school year. Arriving Friday night and staying through Sunday morning, brothers and their dates enjoy exploring the French Quarter.
On Saturday night, a black tie event named after our fraternity flower is hosted at one of the premier centers on Bourbon Street. One of our more well-known date parties, Hayseed the culture that makes the South so great. In recent years, Hayseed has featured a mechanical bull, and a petting zoo.
With hundreds of pounds of hay covering the ground, camels exploring the back patio, and a live band performing, Hayseed is consistently a fan favorite. Every October, brothers and their dates travel to Montgomery for a night on a riverboat on the Alabama River. The event includes a different genre band on each level of the boat, as well as food and drinks.
This yearly event has been and will continue to be a signature party for ATO for years to come. Semi-formal, In , the chapter added a new date party to our social calendar. ATglow is one of our more casual date parties, with a DJ providing music and entertainment.
