Esther is our Waikato ReCreator. Originally from Kenya, Esther is studying a masters in environmemtal sustainability. Anis is originally from India and has learned the art of sewing and design in New Zealand. The purpose of The ReCreators is to enable our community live more sustainably through creative upcycling.
Upcycling reduces consumerism, stopping the extraction of virgin materials and diversion from landfill. It provides local employment through optimising our resources for a new life. At that point I'd never seen an electric sander let alone used one. The workshop was fabulous and I wanted to let you know that I have just finished restoring a very tatty rimu desk - it now glows, smells fabulous and I use it every day. Thank you!
