Tallahassee police are investigating a homicide on the west side of town after a person's body was discovered Tuesday morning in the roadway. The Police Department did not disclose how the person was killed or release their name or gender. The Tallahassee Democrat has asked for that information. They put up a black privacy fence near the curb to shield the body.
One resident, who declined to give his name, said he heard what he believes were several gunshots between 1 and 2 a. He said he heard a car leave and looked outside his door but didn't see anyone. He figured someone may have found the body as people in the neighborhood were leaving for work and kids were going off to school.
It marked the second official homicide investigation of the year in Florida's capital city and county. The first began Jan. While TPD launched a homicide investigation, officials were unable to provide any other details, including the circumstances of the case, the cause of death, the exact location or any update on potential suspects.
