In the indictment, reviewed by Variety , prosecutors state that Combs transported, aided and abetted three female victims — two more than previously stated, though those two are not named. Additionally, prosecutors backdated his racketeering charge to , four years earlier than stated in the initial indictment. The superseding indictment closely resembles the one filed earlier.
The government has added the ridiculous theory that two of Mr. Combs is as committed as ever to fighting these charges and winning at trial. Prosecutors have stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that by Feb. Combs is currently incarcerated as he awaits his trial date in May. He pled not guilty to the three charges initially lobbed against him, and the judge denied his requests for bail release numerous times before he inevitably withdrew his bids late last year.
