The casual hook up has long been associated with American pop culture. In the back seat of a car, under the school bleachers, or sneaking in and out of bedroom windows. People seem to find the most creative ways to satisfy the most basic of human urges. South Americans however have created an entire industry dedicated to the "hook up". In Argentina they are known as "Telos" or sex hotels. Expectations Telos are hidden in plain sight. Unless you know of their existence you likely won't see them.
Once you do, they are everywhere. You start to notice "albergue transitorio" all over the place. Faint neon lights and obscure signs silently beckon. Usually hidden from the prying eyes of passerby's by large walls or doors. Which makes choosing one all the more difficult. I chose Hotel Blackjack for my first experience at the recommendation of a friend. I honestly expected something over the top and slightly scandalous. My companion and I were pleasantly surprised.
