While the property originally served as an orphanage called the Presbyterian Homes, the cottages on site are now used to house several offices for HumanKind as well as house current programs under our organization. If you are looking for a place to hold an event, our building and greenspace facilities are available for rental by both non-profit and corporate partners.
At this time we do not rent for private event or parties. Covered gathering space with six large picnic tables. Grilling is allowed, with three grills on site.
The host of countless summer swims, our pool is not open to the public, but available for private events including camps, corporate gatherings and celebrations. Lifeguards are provided. The chapel is a nice meeting room that can be configured in a variety of ways for meetings, dinners or instruction. Our facilities team will work with you to design a setup that will fit your needs.
Need the use of a kitchen for your event? A half-size gymnasium that is ideal for team practices. We currently have indoor soccer and basketball teams that use our facility on a routine basis. Additionally, the Gym is the perfect place for banquets or other large gatherings. HumanKind is private property, but we do allow public use of our property for certain activities. We ask that you follow all rules as listed below and on the signs throughout campus.
Available for fishing. Fishing licenses are required and available at the front desk in the Bain Administration Building during regular business hours. Explore our four unique habitats on trails in the center of Lynchburg.
