In accordance with a decision of the ICAO Council, three-letter designators are being applied for all current purposes with effect from 25 October This document contains details of the three-letter designators which have been reserved for use by aircraft operating agencies, aeronautical authorities and services at the time of publication.
For the convenience of message originators, the document also includes the postal and telecommunications addresses commercial and aeronautical of government civil aviation authorities.

Ideally it should reflect correlation between the three-letter designator, the telephony designator and the name of the aircraft operating agency or its function examples: ARO β ARROW β Arrow Aviation; RAJ β RAJI β Raji Airlines ; b in order to reduce the length of transmission the telephony designator should be brief, comprising if possible one word of two or three syllables.
