Here, Wasserman answers questions relevant to city government and his role as city commissioner if elected. He shares what he likes most about the City and his unique qualifications to serve. The Commissioners are respectful and decorous to each other, city staff, presenters and residents who wish to speak. In addition to adhering to civility, I will be representing a voice for the next generation to shape our future.
Both issues require working with city, county, state and federal decision-makers and engaging the public stakeholders to defeat these looming issues. The professional management and administration of Coconut Creek is top-flight. There is little that a commissioner can do since it is in the hands of the Federal Court, U. Setting policy, contributing to problem finding and problem solving and responding to district constituents in need of city assistance.
My wife Kristin and I have planted our roots here to raise our family and I am invested in making the next 25 years of Coconut Creek as successful as the past 25 years. How would you advocate to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in city government if elected? If so, how? Coconut Creek has been growing more and more diverse each day. Our demographics are reflecting more diversity than ever before. It is imperative that we provide programs and outlets to educate our citizens about their neighbors and the different cultures that they represent.
Inclusivity is what I have stood for as an educator my entire career. Everyone should feel safe in their home and in their neighborhood. I want to encourage civic outreach to help bring our community together to be One Creek and One Community. What changes to the City Charter, if any, would you advocate for in the coming four years if elected?
Every five years a Charter Review Board is convened to make recommendations to update our charter for compliance with any changes in state laws or our state constitution. Commissioners can make suggestions to charter changes.
