The nose shows rich strawberry, blackberry and chocolate notes that open up on the palate to a silky ripeness with excellent density. Velvety tannins support the full body and allow the long, fruit-filled finish to bloom. The nose offers a full array of dark cherry plum and currant berry fruit with cedar, fresh earth and cigar box spice, very complex bouquet.
A plush and velvety wine on the tongue with layers of fruit, earth and spice with a long layered finish and a firm hand of acidity holding things in place. Beautiful after a few hours in a decanter but really needs another years in the cellar.
