Scott shot a portion of the footage at several Culture and Animal Foundation festivals in Raleigh, N. Interview footage from animal rights cable television shows is also included. During the s and s, he videotaped hundreds of hours of footage at conferences, meetings, demonstrations, and protests related to various animal rights issues.
He also traveled throughout the United States and Europe videotaping cruelty to animals and animal sanctuaries. The majority of the collection is composed of video footage shot and produced by Ron Scott on a variety of topics, ranging from personal interviews with leaders of the animal rights movement, to footage documenting animal abuse, to coverage of events such as lectures and protests.
Other tapes contain recorded television programs or are purchased copies of commercial productions. Most of the tapes are undated but those with labels date from to The description of each tape is transcribed from the original label. Located on some of the tapes are alphanumeric unique identifiers that contain alpha character A, B or C. These identifiers are indicated at the file level under each subseries.
