The experience of being othered helps me see other others who are estranged from and in their homes. This encounter is personal and collective, as our subjectivities emerge from shared historical experiences of oppression and resistance where different cultures are in contact. Seeking a home in the diaspora is, thus, to cross the paths of other histories. My journey in the diaspora is a process of seeing my own cultural history from the outside and its intimacies with other histories.
