A former Community Medical Center emergency room doctor has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual intercourse without consent, two of which are misdemeanors, two of which are felonies. According to court documents, Tyler James Hurst, is charged with these crimes after multiple victims came forward after receiving care from Hurst in the ER where he touched them inappropriately.
In some cases giving patients opiates and sexually assaulting them. One victim stated Hurst did not wear gloves at any point during an examination where Hurst assaulted her.
A second victim says that she arrived at the hospital by ambulance due to difficulty breathing and low oxygen levels. She says that Hurst touched her breasts, her private parts which did not have anything to do with the reason she was in the hospital.
Anyone with additional information, including patients who may have had similar experiences, are urged to contact Missoula Police Detective Devin Erickson at Hurst faces a maximum potential sentence of 25 years to life in the Montana State Prison if convicted on the felony charges and up to a year and six months in the Missoula County Detention Facility if convicted on the misdemeanor charges. Community Medical Center has terminated his clinical privileges, and the hospital has cooperated with the ongoing investigation.
