However, she more than compensated for it by taking us on a tour of Maseru. The highlight was a drive to the top of a hill with a stunning panorama of the city, where the Parliament Building is situated.
I saw a hummingbird for the first time, on the hillside, which was exciting and managed to get a beautiful photo of it in flight.
After our tour we drove down to the Ouh la la cafe to meet Sharon for breakfast. I had a cheese and tomato crepe which was good. We then browsed around the shops and bought a few items of clothing to be cooler and more comfortable.
Weather hot and sunny, around 30 degrees with occasional tropical storms. We needed to go to the visa office later so walked across town, umbrella up like the locals protection from the sun. We walked down the hill into town and despite having an umbrella, got covered in sand off the roads, and wet.
Not the best start to the evening…. I usually find that when things are looking negative they often turn out really well. Our night at the Good Times Bar was no exception. We ate on the terrace which was lovely and cool I had rocquefort salad. A few games and drinks later we were chatting to our new Basotho friends: Malunga, Rizzie and others, learning how to dance African style. She is the only female DJ on the local radio station and invited us to visit her at the studio tomorrow.
