My 15 year old son has just spent 17 hours in a coach in dover waiting to go on a much anticipated ski trip. The school just notified us to say that now- due to health and safety, drivers hours etc- the trip needs to be cancelled and the kids are on their way back from dover.
They try and blame the French yet all of this lies at their door. Fuck them all for ruining kids trip and probably thousands more and ruining everything they touch with their stinking corrupt lies and their lies about brexit. I really feel for you and your son, that's awful. Young people had so much cancelled in the last three years and now this. TomatoFrog bollocks. It lies entirely at the tories feet - Brexit it an unmitigated disaster.
It was the tories that insisted that every passport had to be stamped. Log in to update your newsletter preferences. Umm, pretty sure Brexit and the need to check each passport individually has played a part in delays. So, on this occasion, yup Tory government is to blame. I imagine TomatoFrog will leap to support the government no matter what. No real point in arguing with her I suppose. PinkiOcelot school have said they will try everything to get money back. Of course you can. Post Brexit it takes longer because the requirement for passport checks on non EU travellers.
I am so sorry, I don't know what to say, your poor lad and his mates and the teachers trying to keep their charges safe. My niece is in same situation. Booked trip a year ago, waiting since last night to board a ferry. Will have to abandon the trip if they can't sail today as it's just 3 nights.
Awful and mostly due to Brexit. The fuckers who voted for this need to be constantly reminded of their arrogance and stupidity. It's a terrible situation. As a teacher I feel so sorry for the school staff trying to look after children in these circumstances. Omg horrendous, so sorry for your son and his class. I really feel for everyone stuck in those queues, it's just inhumane.
