The major sources of air pollution for Dar es Salaam City are motor vehicles believed to be the primary source affecting ambient air quality , industrial pollution and residential burning of fossil fuels.
Automobile air pollution is a growing problem in Dar es Salaam City and as such it needs immediate attention before it goes out of control. Inadequate urban planning is a significant driving force behind rising emission levels, because residential and commercial centers are often far apart, forcing mass movement of workers on a daily basis.
