We are a non-profit association and our donors have given us an old stone house from the 17th century and a beautiful farmhouse in the high mountains with meadows and pine forests to make something new by involving enthusiastic people like you. We need help to renovate the house and the farmhouse but also ideas to develop activities and proposals to pursue at every step the goal of sustainable development. We are currently working to make possible to use natural to relax and practice yoga or meditation.
With us you will have an out of confort zone experience, based on dialogue and sharing. Exploring the surrounding nature, in the peace of mountain life, or spending your free time in the sun by the Maggia river. Ideal if you like nature. Since we are in a remote area we will provide a car manual gear to drive down to the village or discover the region. Use of the car is free of change for labor activities. We change 50 cts per km, gasoline included, when used for your leisure.
If you miss people around you can walk or drive down to the village. For the crowds, however, you will have to go to the city of Locarno and the Lake Maggoire area, Bellinzona with its three castles or Lugano on the Ceresio lake. During the summer, many small local events will allow you authentic contact with the people.
If you are looking for live music, there are many folk festivals or live concerts between June and August. We are renovating our house at the village and hut in the mountains and at the same time we are developing our artistic, cultural and recreational offers. We are looking for help in different actievities, cleaning, painting, material removal, forest and pasture care and construction of small wooden structures to create a camping place in the mountain.
To perform our activities, you need to have, sturdy work shoes and resistent work clothes. We can host up to 5 volunteers in a completely independent stone house im the mountain over the village of Menzonio where we live you may experience a simple but confortable way of life whit domitory kitchen and bathroom.
