Choosing the right school for your massage training is an important step in launching a successful career. There are many factors that you should be aware of before enrolling in any massage program.
First, you will want to find out if the school is accredited and approved by your state's massage therapy board. Make sure that they meet all the requirements, including the minimum number of hours required by your state to be able to apply for licensure. How long has the school been in operation? How many instructors are currently teaching in the massage program, and what is their level of experience? How many hours of anatomy and hands on massage training is included?
Does the school offer job placement, ceu courses, advanced training? Do they have a health clinic where you can practice on actual clients during your training?
These are all important issues that need to be addressed. After you have made a list of the schools in your area that satisfy all these basic issues, then you may want to compare the program costs, and see what options are available for financial aid.
