Is anyone else doing Stephane Milleret's online course? I've learned two of the four tunes so far and feel like I've learned so much. I'm pretty new to accordion about six months in so every song is a struggle, but they're beautiful. They're not super smooth just yet, but my right hand and left hand are doing what they should most of the time. Any chance of sharing one of the tunes with us. I'd be tempted to know more. Don't worry if it's not perfect - or not even close.
How does it work? Its focus is on mordants and cuts, and precise timing thereof, and Stefane being Stefane on subtleties of rhythm My next task will be Pignol's classic scottiche 'British Swing' and teaches how to play virtually an entire melody 'swung' - viz ahead of the beat! Both get played slowly with close up rt hand medium pace and finally at full speed.
Lot's of little tips like Nice bass runs too, though an 8 bass might ignore that. All are 'solo melodeon', though his rhythm breaks would be superb played in a band his speciality. He stresses 'just ideas'.. He hasn't touched on improvisation yet, I don't think he will. Sure, if my keys aren't sticky today I've been fighting with humidity in my apartment , I could take a video of one of the songs I've "learned.
I wouldn't want to do anything that could be considered inappropriate. My intention is not to get a freebie but to see whether the course is suitable for me. Walleye Good talker Offline Posts: You can find out if the course is suitable for you by purchasing the first one, "Le Petite Sorcier" for 5 Euros. Just a little more than a fancy cup of coffee! You can find details about the tune from the website to see if you'd be interested.
